MEETING OPENS


Electric Company Execu­tives

Attending Conference.


Sales executives of the Graybar Electric Company, distributors of electrical merchandise throughout the United States yesterday opened a sales conference with eleven of their supply dealers in Muncie. Yesterday’s program began with a trip through the Indiana Steel and Wire Company plant and meetings will continue to­day and tomorrow at the Indiana Steel and Wire Company on South Council street. A dinner was held last night for visitors at the Hotel Rob­erts.

The visitors, headed by D. C. Guest of New York, manager of Graybar's outside construction, arrived early yesterday morning. The group visited the Hemingray plant of the Owens-Illinois Glass Company, and in the afternoon attended conferences con­ducted by the International Creosoting and Construction Company.

Several Companies Participate.

This afternoon and tomorrow, the Graybar staff will meet with officials of the following companies partici­pating in the three-day meeting: Leach Company, Oshkosh, Wis.; Four-Wheel Drive Auto Company, Clintonville, Wis.; M. Klein and Sons Com­pany, Chicago; W. H. Salisbury and Company, Chicago; Reliable Electric Company, Chicago; National Tele­phone Supply Company, Cleveland, and Greenlee Tool Company, Rock­ford, Ill.

The Graybar representatives here for the conference include D. C. Guest and I. H Wills. New York; J. J. Portley. Albany, N. Y.; R. J. Duffy, Mount Vernon, N. Y.; J. A. Boyce, Rochester, N. Y.; F. A. Tibbetts and Harold Cairnie, Boston, Mass.; A. C. Eastburn and W. L. Hall, Philadelphia; G. E. Fishell, Cleveland; W. A Wayman, Pittsburgh; Ellis Link. Akron; L. B. Stewart, Buffalo; G. J. Vana, Chicago; Vic Emblad, Springfield, Ill.; T. H. Beecher, Indianapolis; Ed Mar­tin, Cedar Rapids; Harvey Neher, St. Louis; Vernon Young, Dallas. Tex.; S. B. Hardin, Kansas City, and J. D. Diver, Detroit.

Fred Crapo and H. E Hartman, vice-presidents of the Indiana Steel and Wire Company, and W. Paul Zimmerman, general manager of the Hemingray Division of the Owens-Illinois Glass Company, are in charge of local arrangements.
