Nearly Goes Into River--

Saved by Barge.

Old Bridge, May 19: — A fifty-ton crane used by the Brookfield Glass Company, of this place, tipped over Monday and was only saved from the South river by a barge owned by the Scully Transportation Company, of South Amboy, The crane fell on the barge and the P. R. R. wrecking crew hoisted the huge piece of mech­anism back on the railroad with bit little difficulty. Spreading rails caused the accident. Engineer Nicols was in charge of the crane.
