Glass from where?

A recent acquisition at the Pendleton Historical Museum is an Acme Air Tight Butter Jar. It was manufactured in Pendleton by the Pendleton Glass Tube and Pipe Works of Indiana. This business was incorporated Nov. 21, 1891. The company had an exhibit at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Later that year, the business was destroyed by a fire. This and many other items of glass from local glass factories are on exhibit at the Pendleton Historical Museum. The museum is open from 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
