John Lapp to Start New

Industry in LeRoy

John S. Lapp, who was formerly connected with the Locke Insulator Company at Victor, is to start an insulator factory at LeRoy. The company is composed of men prominent in the electrical business, and is capitalized for $150,000. The plant will be called the Lapp Electrical Manufacturing Co., and will be built in units, the first covering an acre of land. A considerable number of skilled workmen will be employed. The products of the Insulator Co. will be marketed throughout the United States, and some expert business will be done. Oders that will keep the plant busy for six months have already been received.

The plant will be completed about May 1st. The layout calls for plenty of land space, shrubbery and trees. The weekly pay roll will be $900.

Mr. Lapp began looking for a site suitable for a location about six months ago, and traveled between West Virginia and Central New York, finally selecting LeRoy as offering the largest number of advantages in which to locate his industry. --Canandaigua Journal.
