Quick Work. — We are informed by Mr. Slater Lewis that he has already succeeded in completing the equipment of the instrument, cabinet, insulator, and battery departments of his new works (the National Telegraph Works, Birminghan). Considering that this involved, of necessity, the selection and laying down of engines, lathes, machine tools, wood-working machinery, shafting, forges, furnaces, and a host of tools and minor appliances, and that barely a month has elapsed since the work was entered upon, we think it may fairly be described as rather quick work. We understand that Mr. Lewis has already commenced active operations.
