A FUNNY BLANK WORLD Robert Hemingray, the veteran flint glass manufacturer, who carries a face like a benediction, set in a silver frame, frosted with the snow of seventy winters, was the recipient of the following expressive lines, written by his friend, R. A. Athey, Mayor of Covington, Ky., immediately before adjusting the recent difficulties with the American Flint Glass Workers' Union.
This is a funny world we liven in, 'Tis a very good world to spend or give in, But to beg or to borrow, or to get one's own 'Tis the blankest world that ever was known. |
