The only articles of porcelain that are made in Pittsburgh are manufactured by the Westinghouse Electric Co. and comprise switch boxes, wall fixtures, cut-off boxes, etc. The material is a non-conductor and proof against heat and moisture. The Westinghouse Co. have ten presses engaged in the manufacture, with a capacity of from 2,000 to 5,000 pieces.
