ANSWERS TO

QUESTIONS?

Radio Editor : — May an insulator under five inches long be used for fastening an aerial wire to a wooden building? Is the Brach lightning protector approved as a substitute for a lightning switch? Is the enclosed hook-up right for the installation of the lightning protector? L. D. H.

The insulator does not have to be five inches long, but it must be held five inches from the wall. The Brach lightning arrester is all right in place of a lightning switch. In fact, the lightning switch is not recommended for a receiving set and you had better install the lightning protector. The hook-up in your letter is all right.
