In the race for manufacturing industries Fairmount has not been left but has been more fortunate than any of the towns in the gas belt outside the couty [sic] county seats. The Enterprise Manufacturing Co., employs twenty-five people and make extension tables exclusively. Their product is shipped all over the United States; the Fairmount Glass Works and the Dillon Glass Works employ 250 people between them and they are said to be men who have worked in every state in the Union where there are glass houses, to be the most complete in point of construction and convenience to any in the country. Both factories are green houses, manufacturing fruit jars, oil cans, battery jars, druggists ware, etc.
