Muncie Society
Twenty-Five Years Ago
In looking back over the past holiday week it seems to have been unusually festive, not because there were more parties or dances, but because the affairs were large enough to assume the character of functions. One of the largest attended by the elite of Muncie social world was the ball given by the Assembly Club last evening in the I. O. R. M. hall. The ballroom decorations were an attractive arrangement of southern smilax which twined the pillars. The balcony where the Marion Soldiers Home band rendered a program of beautiful dance music, was massed with flowers and greenery studded with a profusion of electric lights, brilliantly illuminated the altogether attractive scene. The guests from out-of-town were the Misses Sylvia Johnson of Connersville, guest of Mrs. Erle Meeks; Stella Thomas, of Terre Haute, guest of Mrs. Ray Johnson; Esther Keeler and Marjorie Bippus of Huntington, the guests of Misses Stewart, Clara Morgan of Richmond, the guest of Miss Charlotte Topp; Pearl Johnson of Cleveland, guest of Mrs. Charles Davis; Lyle Turner of Terre Haute, the guest of Miss Lois Durham; Frances and Margaret Atwell of Sewickley, Pa., the guests of the Misses Sarah and Mary Wysor; Margaret Latham of Bloomington, and Miss Matthews of Jonesboro, the guests of Mrs. Ralph Hemingray; Mr. and Mrs. W.
