The Manufacture of Telegraph Insulator Pins out of locust wood is an industry that has grown to important proportions in western North Carolina during the past six months. There are several factories in successful operation at Waynesville, Hendersonville, and other points. The factory of Arthur & Lipscomb, at Buyson City, has been recently enlarged, and its capacity is now double that of formerly. A new firm, E. G. Coffin & Co., has been formed in the same town to manufacture these pins. Janette, Keener & Co. are preparing to embark in this business.
