EAST LIVERPOOL AND VICINITY.

The C. C. Thompson Pottery Co.'s application for the renewal of the franchise granting them the right to use a portion of River street, brought to light some curious facts.

Several of the most prominent potteries in East Liverpool have substantial buildings built upon the property of the city, known as First street, for the use of which ground they each pay a nominal rental of from $1.00 to $5.00 per annum.

The Murphy pottery (the Potters' Supply Co.), the G. F. Brunt Porcelain Works (electrical), and the Cartwright Bros. Pottery Co. all have buildings upon this street, but as it is impossible to use the street for any other purpose, its use in this manner becomes a public benefit.
