8 Charged in Fight
At Plant at Kenova
Four Hurt. Two Seriously;
Labor Dispute Held
Cause of Battle
KENOVA, Sept. 5 — UP — Magistrate Curtis Ward issued watch warrants today for eight men accused of taking part in a fight which ended in injuries to four men at the struck Jeffery-DeWitt Insulator company plant.
The fight took plate yesterday. Two of the men were injured seriously.
Picketing of the plant was resumed after the clash which state police attributed to a labor dispute. CIO pickets have been around the plant since a contract expired a month ago. AFL workers returned about two weeks ago.
Roy Hayslip, who was arrested by Sergt. W. P. Chadwick of the Kenova police after the clash, waived a hearing before Magistrate J. L. Malcom on a charge of cutting with intent to kill.
A juvenile arrested with Hayslip was taken to Wayne for arraignment before Judge C. W. Ferguson, Chadwick said.
Attendants at a hospital said Robert Holbrook, 45, and Loren Hatten, 22, the most seriously injured, probably would recover. Hatten suffered a fractured skull and Holbrook was stabbed.
The others hurt were Delbert Friley, 30, and Edward Friley, 32.
