Charles E. Hawk, Dies

at Kalamazoo Hospital

 

Charles E. Hawk, 80, former widely-known Muncie man, died yesterday morning at the Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo, Mich., after an extended illness. He was born in Muncie and lived here until 1947, at which time moved to Gravel Lake, Mich., located near Lawton, Mich., to make his home with a daughter, Mrs. Merlin Cox.

Mr Hawk was employed at the Hemingray Glass Company and the Owens-Illinois Glass Company for more than 50 years, retiring about six years ago. He was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge of Muncie.

The only survivor is the daughter. Mrs. Hawk died in 1943 and a son, Kenneth Hawk, died in an Army camp during World War I.

The body was removed to the Meeks Mortuary.
