William Jenkins, 82, Dies; Funeral Tuesday
William Jenkins, 82, a moldmaker for more than 50 years, died at his home at 1007 E. 8th St, Saturday morning after a two-month illness. Born in Louisville, Ky., Mr. Jenkins came to Muncie in 1892. He was employed by the Hemingray Glass Company for over 50 years and later worked for the Owens-Illinois and Kimball glass firms. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church and Local 50, AFL Molders Union. SURVIVING are the widow, Emma; one daughter, Mae at home; one son, William Jr., Columbus, O.; four brothers, John and Ross Jenkins, both of Cincinnati, and Joseph and Charles Jenkins, both of Alton, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Ann Scully, also of Alton. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Church by the Very Rev. Msgr. Felix Seroczynski, and burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary after Monday noon. |
