Pilkington Brothers Limited announces plans to construct a new float gkss plant at the company's sheet glass works in Toronto, Canada.

August

Pilkington Brothers, Ltd., announce two new thicknesses available in float glass, 3/8 and half-inch, making the commercial range now from 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch.

December

A float licensing agreement is signed by Pilkington Glass Ltd., of England, and the Czechoslovakian glass industry.
