Corning Glass Works announces a decrease in earnings for first-half of 1968, although sales increased for the same period.

August

James H. Bierer, former general manager of Consumer Products Division of Corning Glass Works, is elected president of Pittsburgh Corning Corporation, replacing Russell Brittingham, who is made board chairman; James R. Houghton replaces Mr. Bierer at Corning.
