In an article by Fred M. Locke, the well-known insulator manufacturer, in the San Francisco Journal of Electricity, the author states: "I have now good reason to believe that we will soon be able to insulate and transmit power at 100,000 volts, and perhaps at a higher potential, for as long a distance as will be required up to say 400 miles.
