FRED M. LOCKE, of Victor, N. Y., is at present turning out an order of the biggest insulators ever manufactured. The insulator is 14 ins. in diameter and stands 13 ins high. It is of a new and improved design, both as to shape and method of manufacture. This insulator is designed and built especially for the Bay Counties Power Company in California. It will carry 80,000 volts. It is a splendid illustration of what has been done in recent years with high-voltage insulation. Besides this insulator Mr. Locke is also getting out some new and improved forms of insulators for street railway transmission work entirely different from anything he has heretofore manufactured.
