DAN HEMINGRAY

IS STRICKEN

Wealthy Glass Manufacturer in

Critical Condition as Result

of Attack of Paralysis

Stricken with a partial stroke of paralysis at the Queen City club Tuesday evening while conversing with friends, Daniel C. Hemingray, secretary-treasurer of the Hemingray Glass company, of Covington, Ky., and Muncie, Ind., and very wealthy, is confined to apartments in the club in a critical condition.

Mr. Hemingray, who is about 50 years of age, was in the midst of a happy circle at the club Tuesday night, when he was suddenly taken ill. Six physicians, including Drs. H. H. Hines, Frank B. Cross, and E. W. Walker, were called in consultation, and remained with him through the night. Yesterday reports were given out that his condition was much improved, but this was later denied from authentic sources, it being known that two physicians were constantly on watch at the bedside.

Mrs. Hemingray, who makes her home with her husband at the residence of Alex H. Lewis, Glendale, refused to be interviewed last night. Mrs. Lewis said that the latest reports that they had at the home showed the patient's condition much improved. She refused to say when it might be possible to move Mr. Hemingray to his home. The Hemingray's have no children.

The Hemingray Glass Company, of which Ralph Hemingray, a brother of the stricken man, of Muncie, Ind., is president, is widely known to the trade, it being one of the largest manufacturers of insulators and tumblers in the country. The business has proven immensely profitable.
