FULL SHARE OF HONORS OBTAINED BY THE MUNCIE MEN William Finan Placed on Board of Trustees of Flint Organization — Delegates Returned Yesterday. Muncie glass workers were awarded a full share of honors at the Martins' Ferry convention of the American Flint Glass Workers' union. Muncie unions will be represented by four local men on the national executive committee, and one, William Finan, of the insulator department, is also a member of the board of trustees, which will have in charge the work of building a number of glass factories for the union. August Ernest, Edward Conroy and William Finan, delegates from local unions to the gathering, returned home yesterday, following the adjournment of the convention Saturday evening. Other delegations are expected today. Martin Joyce of the Ball Brothers factory and John Tobin of the Boldt's factory will represent the jar and bottle departments from Muncie. William Finan, who is employed at the Hemingray factory, was appointed from the insulator department, and John O'Brien, of Ball Brothers, will represent the white liners. The delegates report the affairs of the national organization in a prosperous condition. The wage scale which is now entirely in the hands of of the conferees, was considered but no material changes were recommended by the convention. Dates for conferences with the manufacturers are being arranged. |
