BIG NEW TANK WAS READY
MEANS EMPLOYMENT FOR 200
Glassworkers Will Start to Work
Monday at Hemingray Plant
With Prospects of Long
and Steady Run.
Tomorrow the new tank at Hemingray's glass factory, which had been in course of construction for many months, will be started to operate and 200 people will be given regular employment. Many of the glass workers have now been idle nine months and they are well pleased with the prospect of steady work again.
The new tank is said to be one of the best and most modern in the country and if nothing happens will last for a great many years. The Hemingray plant is now completely equipped with gas producers, which assures its permanency as an active Muncie industry. The improvements made during the past year have cost in the neighborhood of $100,000.
The company reports having sufficient orders in sight to run full time from now until the end of the present fire, about July 1, and the men who have enjoyed such a long vacation are much pleased with the present outlook.
