. . . [illegible text] . . . assembly of the season given . . . [illegible text] . . . at Shirk's Hall, was a . . . [illegible text] . . . affair.

. . . [illegible text] . . . condition, and . . . [illegible text] . . . complete in every respect, it could be nothing else than a great social success.

As the guests stepped from their carriages . . . [illegible text] . . . stairs, they found . . . [illegible text] . . . and from the base to the top to protect the ladies elegant gowns. On the upper landing they were relieved of their wraps by the cloak room attendants.

The draperies were furnished and hung by McNaughton's. The beautiful . . . [illegible text] . . . and cozy corner were also arranged by them, while the furniture was given by Meeks Bros. for the occasion. The reception room was a revelation of decorative beauty to the guests, palms tastefully arranged finishing folially the picture. In a corner of this room as abundance of punch was to be found.

At 9 o'clock music was heard, which was furnished by the Montana Orchestra, of Indianapolis. The orchestra consists of five members, equal to more, as one of them plays four or five instruments, two and three at a time.
