In the Affray — Two Were

Injured.

Mary Kettlewood and Mrs. James Burke, of Industry caused much excitement yesterday afternoon in Industry and both women were seriously injured.

The women reside near each other, and it is claimed, and also denied, that Mrs. Kettlewood came to the Burke home intoxicated and started trouble.

Mr. Burke had just came from work at Hemingray’s factory and took a hand in the mess. A son of Mrs. Kettlewood appeared on the scene also and Burke alleges that the young man threatened to use a brick, whereupon Burke threw a monkey wrench at him.

The wrench went wide of its mark and hit Mrs. Kettlewood on the head, inflicting a serious wound. In the meantime Mrs. Kettlewood had struck Mrs. Burke on the side of the head with a fruit jar, lacerating her left ear.

All were at police station last night, Kettlewood coming down in a cab. Charges were filed against Burke and Mrs. Kettlewood. Burke gave bond for his appearance, and the warrant against Mrs. Kettlewood is not yet served.

Both families came from Tiffin to Muncie. They reside on East Ninth street.
