GENERAL NOTES.

The delegates who succeeded in landing the next annual convention of the American Flint Glass Workers' Association for Muncie at the Zanesville meeting last week are home, and are being congratulated on all sides. Among the delegates were the following well-known men; James McMonagle, John Rookenhouser, Thomas McElhern, Charles Edmunds, James Sullivan and Alf Meecham [sic] Meacham. Out of the 136 delegate votes Muncie received 120 leaving the balance to be divided among Elwood, Cincinnati and Detroit, the other applicants. This shows what an effort the local representatives put forth. The father of the idea of securing the contention for Muncie was Joseph Hayden, a Muncie business man, who first enthused the two locals, and then secured a pocket full of good, strong letters from public officials to present to the meeting with the invitation. Joseph was correspondingly one of the happiest men in the city at the news of the success of the Muncie men. The convention will occur a year hence, and will be about double the size of the green glass men who were with us last week, It will convene the first Monday after the Fourth of July next year, probably in the Court House.
