COTILLION CLUB
Gave Pleasant Reception at Shirk's Hall
Last Night
Never before in its history has Shirk's hall presented a more charming spectacle than last night.
It was the occasion of a german given by the Cotillion club, and was conceded to be the most delightful terpsichorean affair ever given by this social organization, and one among the most brilliant that has eventuated in the annals of Muncie's society circles, The spacious hall, filled as it was with a brilliant array of society people, elegantly attired, and converted into a veritable bower by the effusion of patriotic colors, presented a picture of such artistic beauty that any artist, however talented, might well envy. The brilliant rays from the numerous of electric lights falling with a soft cadence on this scene of splendor made it all the more striking and completed the picture. The glorious stars and stripes, intermingled with the flag of Cuba, were conspicuous everywhere and no matter what direction the eye turned it was met with the folds of Old Glory, the walls being completely covered and the chandeliers entwined in artistic taste. The orchestra station was beautifully banked in potted plants, palms and flowers, together with an abundance of the American
ripy pastime of dancing wan indulged until a flags. The happy pastime of dancing and bucket ball was indulged until a late hour. Rhine Hummel furnished the refreshments, which were served in buffet style throughout the evening. Beautiful and unique favors were distributed, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Olcott, Mrs. Winans and Mrs. Little being the patronesses.
