COTILLION CLUB Pleasing Affair Given at Shirk's Hall Last Night Muncie has many social organizations of which she is justly proud, but there are none whose members understand the art of hospitality more thoroughly than those of the Cotillion club. This club is one of the city 's foremost social organizations, and is composed of the elite of Muncie. Last night a ball was given by the members of this society in Shirk’s hall, complimentary to Miss White of Terre Haute, and Miss Daniels of Dayton, Ohio. It was conceded to be the most brilliant event of the year, and the most delightful and charming terpsichorean affair ever given by the Cotillion club. The spacious hall was brilliantly illuminated with numerous electric lights and with the gay throng, the picture presented was one of dazzling beauty. When the opera house orchestra struck the strains of the opening march all participated in the dance, and from that time on until midnight the happy pastime was kept up, never ceasing only for intermissions when refreshments in the buffet fashion were served. Those present were Misses OlCott, Gill, Kirby, White, Winchester, McNaughton, Streeter, Daily, Hickman, Turner, and Hemingray. Messrs. Robert Walker, Will Myers, Carl O'Harra, Walter Brown, Karl Oesterle, Charles Gill, Harry Case, R. G. Wanamaker, Dr. Wallace, Fred Swain, Walter Baker, John Sprowl and Mr. and Mrs, Leo S. Ganter. |
