BOWLING PARTY.
Society Enjoyed the New Sport Immensely
Last Evening.
Fifty Ladies and Gentlemen at the Dages
Event — Creditable Scores From
Feminine Department.
Society will have occasion to use Witch Hazel in great quantities today, with a view of removing shocking pains that will shoot through the right arms of a great many ladies and gentlemen who were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. T. Dages last night at their bowling party, the first ever given in Muncie, on the new alleys recently built by Mr. Gray.
Nearly fifty members of the social set responded to the generous bid of the host and hostess, and assembled soon after 8 o'clock at the alley on East Main street, and from that hour till 12, the sport was most thoroughly enjoyed. The prizes made the contest all the more spirited, and some of the scores made by the ladies were most creditable, while the amateurish gents did finely, after they were once thoroughly familiar with the peculiar twist necessary to make the ball follow the alley course of 60 feet into the bunch of pins. Each guest played 15 brackets for the game, and 100 points in such a game is most creditable. The appending table of the total scores show 19 members of the company that made that score or better, while seven of the ladies were in this party of 19.
The score of the four prize winners were as follows.
J. Edgar Johnson....................161
George V. Jennings................156
Mrs. George V. Jennings........119
Mrs. Ed. F. Tyler....................110
A handsome china tray was given as first prize, and the three other prize winners secured dainty china cups and saucers.
