TRADES UNION ADVOCATE.

Albert Evans Gives Some Pointed

Arguments For His Position.

Because I believe in the prosperity of our laboring people depends the prosperity of our Republic and the stability of all its institution, and I contend that labor and capitol can but antagonize when trade unions do not exist. But when labor is organized and has promulgated a scale of prices and code of rules, it gives to the mechanic a certainty to his remuneration for his day's work, and it likewise acquaints every contractor with the exact amount he must pay for labor on each and every job which he shall bid for. This accords equal justice toward all, and charity towards none.             A. J. EVANS.
