EUCHRE CLUB

Delightfully Entertained At Mrs.

Durham.s Home Saturday.

The regular meeting of the Saturday afternoon Euchre club was entertained at the home of Mrs. J. E. Durham on South Jefferson street, Saturday. The hosts of the occasion were Mrs. Durham and Mrs. G. O. Cromwell and the meeting proved likely the most interesting of the season. During the afternoon light refresbments were constantly at the disposal of the guests. For the most games won, Mrs. C. M. Turner and Miss Josephine Gray each won 18 out of the 23 played. In the final games on the play off, Mrs. Turner secured the prize, a handsome cut glass vinaigrette. For the most lone hands, a Japanese cup and saucer was offered as the prize, Nadine Wilson and Mrs. W. F. Keddall each successfully played seven, but in cutting the cards Miss Wilson won.

Instead of the customary ribbons, used in selecting partners, a novelty was introduced by the ladies, in the form of cards each bearing a photograph of the two hostesses. These cards also made greatly appreciated souvenirs of the occasion. The members of the club were all present as follows: Mesdames, C. H. Anthony, C. L. Bender, G. W. Bower, B. F. Bradburry, W. C. Dickie, N. F. Ethell, J. A. Heinsohn, Robert Hemingray, T. K. Heinsohn, H. H. Highlands, Ralph Hemingray, J. V. Gilbert, W. F. Kendall, J. W. Kirby, W. L. Little, A. W. Patterson, Edward Olcott, W. M. Patterson, L. Shaw, D. L. Turner, B. H. Whiteley, C. M. Turner, W. N. Whitely, A. Wright, H. M. Winans, W. Maddy, Mrs. Winder and Miss Nadine Wilson.
