George Green, While Chipping Beef, Amputates His Thumb.


And Frank Harty, Making Boxes, Is Also Unfortunate.


Yesterday George Green, an employee at the Sterling Grocery, while chipping beef, caught his thumb under the knife and served [sic] severed the number. The injury was a very painful one, and will necessitate his laying off for several days.

Sawed His Off.

Frank Harty is a box maker at the Hemingray glass works.

Yesterday while at work he caught his thumb and so badly mangled the member with the saw that it had to be amputated. Drs. Green and Trent attended both cases.
