Malleable Glassware.
The Cincinnati Times says: Truly the age of progress is passing away, and we are approaching the epoch of completion. We were shown to-day an ordinary formed glass-lamp chimney, which the exhibitor used a hammer, and with it drove a ten-penny nail into and through a two-inch pine board without flaw or blemish to the glass chimney.
A gentleman informed us, that in passing the glass warehouse of Hemingray & Co., on Walnut str., he saw them shipping different kinds of glassware packed in gunny bags in place of boxes, without any packing material around the pieces, and the bags were thrown upon the dray as if they were bags of salt, one on top of the other, without care or "this side up." Truly, if this can be, is the age of iron passed, and will it not be all glass?
