THE MRS. ROBERT MACREADY RECEPTION.

The elegant reception given last Monday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Macready at their handsome residence on Sixth street, was one of the most fashionable and delightful affairs given during the season. Over one hundred invitations were issued, and nearly all were responded to. Numerous plants and flowers, arranged in exquisite designs, were to be seen in the various apartments, adding greatly to the already handsome interior. The genial host and hostess, assisted be their charming niece, Miss Stone, from New York, entertained their guests in the most hospitable style. In the large, brilliantly illuminated drawing-rooms dancing was indulged in, and that was one of the delightful features of the evening's enjoyment. Eight musicians furnished the music. Among those in attendance were: Miss Bacon, Miss Taylor, Miss Langdon, Miss Davis, Miss West, Miss Keck, Miss Mills, the Misses Carlise, the Misses Baker, Miss Brown, Miss Hofer, Miss Bruce, Miss Ware, Miss Neff, Miss Woods, Miss Ferguson. The gentlemen were: Messrs. Bruce, Hall, Smith, Shaffer Holton, Wulsin, Hemingray, Goodhue, Dixon, Langdon, Gates, Thorne, Baker, Kidd, Hulbert, Woods, Compton, Chatfield, Lawson, Hart and others.

Researcher notes:It is very likely that Miss Keck is Clara Keck and Mr. Hemingray is Daniel Hemingray. The two later married in 1881.
