COVINGTON.

PURE WATER. — The City Council settled down to business last night and took some important steps toward securing a supply of pure water. The matter was referred the Special Committee on Reservoir, Committee of Citizens and Engineer. The Reservoir Committee consists of Messrs. T. C. Wolking, S. W. Coflin, T. F. Hallam, T. J. Whittle and Alex. Davezac. The citizens are James Tranter, James Walsh, H. S. Worthington and Ralph G. Hemingray, and City Engineer Thomas Kennedy. With this array of good sense and representatives of business and wealth, a speedy solution of the all absorbing and intricate question may be looked for.
