Cinder bank at Hemingrays has been on fire for a week

COVINGTON.

A LARGE cinder-bank adjoining Hemingray's glass-works, at the foot of Madison street, has been on fire for a week or more past. Several streams have been thrown upon the burning mass for hours at a time by the pumps at the works, but without the effect of extinguishing the fire, and yesterday morning the services of the Fire Department were called into requisition to aid in subduing the flames.
