Inauguration of the New Musical Fund

Hall — The Chivalry and Beauty of the

State.

The society event of the season occurred at the new Musical Fund Hall, corner of Fourth and Scott streets, Last evening.

The voting gentlemen from the elite of the city arranged a grand elegant full dress party for their lady friends.

The new Musical Fund Hall is one of the prettiest in the city, having been built by Mr. A. D. Bullock especially for recherche affairs. The hall is magnifi­cently frescoed, and the seats are of the finest furni­ture, while the chandeliers which shed light on the gallant gentlemen and fair Ladles last night are simply gorgeous.

Last night was the inauguration of the new hall.

By nine o'clock the streets near Fourth and Scott streets were blocked with carriages bringing Terpsichoreans to the party who proposed taking part in the gay festivities that were to follow.

The excellent and exquisite music furnished by the well-known Cincinnati Orchestra.

The supper was set by John Lehman, Covington's Prince of caterers. The tables contained every deli­cacy of the season, and the supper set by Lehman for the inauguration of the new Musical Fund Hall only adds to his reputation as being at the head of his profession in his line of business.

Prominent among the ladies present were Misses Florence Hargitt, Clemmie Abbott, Ida Hudson, La Fond Palmer, of Richmond, Va., Mattie Lee, Lu Ford, Misses Clemmons, Sallie Casey, Annie White, Mollie Casey, Lizzie Jones of Cincinnati, Susie O'Hara, Lulu Pierce, Tillie Worthington, Tude Gray, May Lovell, Lu Jennings, Nellie Morris, Callie Walls, of Cincinnati: Ida Symmes, Nellie Vanderventer, of Walnut Hills; Allie Winston, Allie Morgan, Mamie Hoefer, of Glendale; Hallie Wood, Maggie Ward, Rebecca McMullen, of California; Kate Dudley, Jennie Hood, Miss Nevins, of Columbus; Mrs. E. D. Swasey, Mrs. M. J. Dudley, Mrs. W. M. Lee, Mrs. John E. Hamilton, Mrs. John L. Sandford, Mrs. Lee Mannen, of Louisville; Miss Lillie Collins, Mrs. Tom Porter, jun.. Mrs. H. Campbell. Harrison, Ed Swasey, Judge O’Hara, Judge Cleary, Charles Bragg, of Avondale, Thomas Porter, Hon. M. J. Dudley, Ed Cleary, Dr. Hall, George Nuchols, of Cincinnati, Captain Evans, H. C. White, John L. Handford, Robert Hemingray, Dick Ernst, Hack Worthington, Lee Mannen, of Louisville, Tom Lee, Richard Evans, Pearce Porter, Omer Mead, George Haven, William Garvey, George Bruce, James Park, Frank Semple, Frank Fowler, of Dayton. Ohio; Boyd Weasell, of Walnut Hills; A. E. Ludlow, Walter Cleary and many others. The toilettes of the ladles were exquisite. The party at the new ball last night will long be remembered by the ladles and gentlemen who were fortunate enough to participate in it. The dancing was indulged in until the light of the com­ing new year made its appearance, when all separated with the feeling of having spent a most delightful evening. The management disserve the greatest success for their very superb arrangements.
