The society events of the week have centered round Miss Eva Hollinger, only daughter of Mrs. Martin Hollinger, whose wedding took place Wednesday morning. A number of strangers were in the city to attend the wedding and the dinners preceding added much interest to the occasions. Mrs. J. R. Crapo gave a beautiful dinner Monday evening for her niece, Mr. Hemingray, the groom, and members of the family. Twelve sat down at the dining room table. The three Crapo boys, John, Fred and George, were seated at a small table in the library opening into the dining room. Early in the dinner the guests were startled by the strains of the Mendehlssohn wedding march on an eolian played by one of the boys, a surprise feature of the occasion. Miss Luella Hemingray, Mrs. W. H. Thompson and Mr. Ralph Hemingray of Muncie were out of town guests. Autumn decorations were effectively used throughout the rooms on the lower floor. Tuesday evening Mr. Hemingray gave a dinner to his gentlemen friends at the Terre Haute. The dinner was served in a private dining room. His guests were Mr. Samuel C. Hemingray, Bradford Shinkle, A. Clifford Shinkle, and Dr. Frank Cross of Covington, Ky.; Dr. A. K. Smith of Springfield, Ohio; Mr. Walter Gregory of Pittsburg, Pa.; Mr. Herbert Johnston, Mr. Paul Richey, and Mr. Philip McAbee of Muncie, and Mr. Bruce F. Falley, Mr. Samuel Royse, Mr. Robert Walker and Major Gagg. While this dinner was in progress Mrs. Frederick Fischer, grandmother of the bride, entertained the ladies at her home on South Fifth street.
