ODDS AND ENDS . . . George Sahara, manager of the Guarantee Store, gives this definition of a vacation: "A vacation is something that you work a year for to get away from the comforts you have worked so hard to get" . . . Fifty people who have long service with Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and its predecessors will be honored at the sixteenth annual service award dinner of the company November 12. Martin Erlenbach has the longest service record, with 45 years. Harold Eastus has 35 years, and three persons, Velma Rhyan, Bermond Smith and Cecil Waymire are 30-year veterans. Employes who have been with the firm 25, 20, 15 and 10 years will be honored, the 10-year group for the first time.
