ODDS AND ENDS . . . George Sahara, man­ager of the Guarantee Store, gives this defini­tion of a vacation: "A vacation is something that you work a year for to get away from the comforts you have worked so hard to get" . . . Fifty people who have long service with Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and its predecessors will be honored at the sixteenth annual serv­ice award dinner of the company November 12. Martin Erlenbach has the longest service rec­ord, with 45 years. Harold Eastus has 35 years, and three persons, Velma Rhyan, Bermond Smith and Cecil Waymire are 30-year veterans. Employes who have been with the firm 25, 20, 15 and 10 years will be honored, the 10-year group for the first time.
