The Western Green Glass Association met in Cincinnati on Wednesday in regularly quarterly session. Representatives were present from the Pittsburgh firms of Thomas Wightman & Co.; James Chambers & Co.; McCully & Co.; Ihmsen Glass Company; Southern and Kentucky Glass Company, of Louisville; William Elliot Smith, of Alton, Ill.; Mississippi Glass Company, of St. Louis; Ottawa Glass Company, of Ottawa, Ill.; Charles E. Valley Glass Company, Massillon, O., and the Hemingray Glass Company of Covington. Mr. Hemingray presided over the meeting. The action of Congress in reducing the tariff on glass was referred to, and some members thought as prices were low and stocks heavy it would be best to let the fires go out. The majority, however, were evidently against this, and it was determined to run on until July and August vacation. The meeting only lasted two or three hours, and no important action was had further than the resolution to run on. Window glass men are not concerned in this meeting, as they and the bottle glass men have entirely separate organizations.
