REPORTS OF REMOVAL OF
GLASS INSULATOR PLANT
Asserted to Be Incorrect by Officials of Company
Conference with Local Men Today
Reports that the California Glass Insulator company of Long Beach has closed a deal for the purchase of land at Torrance, to which site the plant on West Anaheim will be removed, are said to be incorrect. Torrance people, it is said, have made the glass works company a tempting offer of ground on which to locate, but this offer has not been accepted as yet.
On the other hand, Long Beach people who do not want to see this industry removed from our harbor district will endeavor to induce the company not to give up the Anaheim road location. Officers of the company, who visited Long Beach today on business connected with the glass works, were conferred with on this matter by local men.
The factory is now shut down, so far as the manufacture of products is concerned, but the shipping of manufactured products from the plant is going on. Local business men believe there is a big future for the project and consider it worth loyal support.
