ATE TOADSTOOLS

Seven Glass Workers Thought

They Were Eating

Mushrooms.

Toad-stools eaten for mushrooms caused seven glass workers — John Sullivan, Patrick Lehey, Albert Murray, John Kelley, Thomas Grundy, August Ernst and Thomas Lattimer, employed at the Hemingray factory, to become violently ill about 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. According to the statement of one of the men, all were in the rear room of the Sullivan saloon when one of their number said he would go over near the Blain school and gather some mushrooms. The poisonous toad-stools were eaten and the men soon became very ill. A physician was summoned and emetics administered. By 9 o'clock all the men save Sullivan and Lehey were out of danger. They were taken to Sullivan’s home and this morning had recovered. Sullivan resides at 1604 Macedonia avenue.
