COUNTRY CLUB OPENED.

 

The Country club was formally open­ed Tuesday night with a musicale and dance given under the direction of the house committee of which Miss Car­rol Hemingray is chairman. Misses Klarissa Koons, Helen Hickman, Helen Garner and Mr. George Benham fur­nished the musical numbers. Dancing began at 9 o'clock and Mrs. Will Thomas played. The meeting of the stock­holders which was to have been held last night was postponed until next Tuesday evening when the annual elec­tion of officers will take place. The entertainment committee has arranged for a series of golf afternoons to he held on Thursday of each week during the summer season. Tomorrow afternoon the first of these entertainments will be given and Mrs. J. E. Durham and Mrs. Hal Kimbrough will be in charge and will pour the tea. A large number of the members of the Country club will be present.
