M'DONALD BOYS

ORDERED BACK

MR. YORK WANTS THEM

AT REFORM FARM.

After Ordering Their Arrest,

Sends Them Tickets of

Leave Good for Month.

Detectives Benbow and Puckett, at the request of Superintendent York, of the Plainfield reform school for boys arrested at the Hemingray glass factory last night John and Teddy McDonald in order that they might be returned to the institution for violation of their parole.

Some time ago the mother of the boys received notice that a box of goods was at the C. R. & M depot for her. She sent one of the boys after it and brought it home. The box belonged to Miss Caroline McDonald of Marion, and had been sent here through an-error. When asked to return it the Muncie woman denied having it. The two boys were taken in by the police and they also denied all knowledge of the box. They were placed in the sweat-box and finally one of them told where the box and contents could be found. An officer of the reform school was here at the time and reported the matter to Superintendent York and the latter ordered the boys returned. This was several weeks ago but the boys could not be found until yesterday.

This morning a sister of the boys came to headquartesr [sic] headquarters with a letter and two tickets-of-leave from the reform school for the boys, dated January 17 and good until February 17. The letter stated that John must secure a position and Teddy must go to school. The latter failed to comply and will probably be returned. Mrs. McDonald is trying to keep her sons from another trip to the reformatory.
