WEALTH OF FLOWERS

Covered Casket of Dan Hemingray

During the Funeral Service.

The funeral of Daniel C. Hemingray, in Highland Cemetery, near Ft. Mitchell, Ky., yesterday afternoon was the largest in point of attendance that has ever been held in that pretty little burial plot. The chapel was filled to overflowing, and during the funeral services quite a number of mourners stood with bared heads outside.

Four special cars on the over-the-river line, which the family had provided for friends on this side of the river, left Third and Walnut streets at 1:45 yesterday, full to capacity. When they arrived at the cemetery the funeral party was already there, and the little chapel was a veritable bower of flowers. The floral offerings literally smothered the casket.

The Episcopal service for the dead was read by Rev. Magruder, of Trinity Church, Covington, after which the body was laid away in the family burial plot, which is about a stone’s throw from the chapel.

President Draper, of the Chamber of Commerce, yesterday appointed the following committee to prepare a memorial for the late Dan Hemingray, who was a member of the association for many years: Frank A. Rothier, James R. Minor, L. C. Goodale, Edward S. Grant, John H. Allen and Eugene L. Lewis.
