Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matthews, of Springfield, Ohio, and son, Mr. Thomas Matthews, and Mr. and Mrs. Philip McAbee, of Muncie, Ind., are with Miss Llewellyn Hemingray at the Woodford, Covington, having been called here by the illness and death of Mr. Matthews's sister, Miss Lide Matthews, which occurred at her apartment in the Woodford Saturday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, who have been stopping at the Alms Hotel for three weeks, to be near Mrs. Matthews, came over to Covington Saturday to be with Miss Hemingray.

With the passing of Miss Matthews Covington loses not only one of its oldest women, but one of its most influential ones. She had resided in Covington all her life. Until an accident a few years ago that caused lameness, Miss Matthews was active in the First Presbyterian Church and in charities and was a social leader admired greatly by a large circle of friends.

Until moving to the Woodford after the death of her mother, she passed her life in the Matthews residence on Greenup Street, near Fifth.

Her niece, Miss Hemingray; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matthews and nephew, Mr. Thomas Matthews, and her other niece, Mrs. Philip McAbee, have the sympathy of their many friends.
