funeral Monday

Eugene Macken Sr., 67, 2006 S. Walnut, died at his resi­dence early Saturday morning after a lengthy illness.

Born in Muncie, he was the son of Peter and Elizabeth Macken, who were early Irish settlers and glass workers in this area.

He attended St. Lawrence School.

Mr. Macken was employed at Owens-Illinois 46 years until forced to retire due to ill health.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a former member of Moose Lodge 33.

Surviving besides his wife, Rosanna Bradburn Macken are two sons, Eugene C. Macken and Ronald Macken, both of Muncie; two brothers, John Macken, Muncie, and Binford Macken, Detroit, and seven grandchildren.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 10 a.m. Mon­day with Msgr. E. A. Schwier officiating. The Rosary will be recited 4:30 Sunday, interment will be in Elm Ridge Ceme­tery.

Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 Sun­day and prior to the services Monday.
