350 Guests
Silver Trove
The silver display sponsored by the Friends of the Northern Kentucky Comprehensive Care Center drew considerable interest with over 350 guests attending at the Ft. Mitchell Country Club.
The flatware, candy dishes and sugar and creamers were among the silver pieces in the Daniel Carroll Hemingray display. Two huge punch bowls from the USS Kentucky were also displayed. This silver is housed in the arsenal in Frankfort. From private collections, there were butter servers, pickle and spice servers, tea sets and candelabra.
Included in the display were samples from the Hemingray Glass Co. Some of the pieces were telephone insulators and jars.
Mrs. C. Gordon Walker and Mrs. Richard Franz cochaired the event which displayed an estimated [dollar:$500,000] worth of silver.
