THE HEMINGRAY-MATTHEWS WEDDING. — Last night the First Presbyterian Church was filled with the beauty and fashion of the city, to witness the nuptials of Mr. Ralph G. Hemingray, son of Robert Hemingray, Esq., President of the Hemingray Glass Company, and Miss Jennie Matthews, daughter of Major Thomas A. Matthews, of East Fourth street. Messrs. William Pierce, James Ernst, John Stevens and Crit. Pierce of Maysville, in full dress, white kids and boutonniers [sic] boutonnieres, acted as ushers, and gracefully performed their assigned duties.

A few minutes before 7 o'clock the bridal party entered. Two of the ushers appeared first, followed by the bride and groom, the other two ushers bringing up the rear. According to the highest dictates of present fashion, the happy pair dispensed with attendants. A little hiatus occurred when the party gathered in front of the chancel. No clergyman appeared, and an awkward pause ensued, the congregation wondering what was the matter. One of the ushers slipped into the session-room, and giving the information that everything was in readiness, Rev. Dr. Worrall, the pastor of the Church, appeared, assisted by Rev. W. H. Felix, of the first Baptist Church, and the knot was tied according to the simple, but no less effective, ceremony of the Presbyterian Church. During the entire services the organ gave forth its most delicious strains, under the skillful and tasteful manipulation of Mr. Louis E. Levassor. The bride was dressed in most exquisite taste, her attire being cameo silk, trimmed with point lace, illusion vail, with the traditional wreath of orange flowers, and diamond jewelry.
