COVINGTON.

A DEPTH of one thousand feet was reached yesterday in the artificial gas borings which are being made at the Hemingray Glass Works. Pipes have been laid for conveying the gas to the boilers, and as soon as the new machinery gets in working order coal will be dispensed with altogether.
