GLASS BLOWERS' UNION IN SATISFACTORY SHAPE D. A. Hayes. president of the Glass Bottle Blowers' Association of America and sixth vice president of the American Federation of Labor, has been spending the last few days in the city on labor matters. President Hayes, who is stationed at Philadelphia, is touring the country in the interests of the Glass Blowers' association. He arrived from Chicago last Saturday, and has been in daily conference with the local branch. No. 30. whose members are employed at the Western Glass Bottle factory at Valverde.
President Hayes reports the conditions of the local association as nourishing and entertains great hopes for the future of the Glass Bottle Blowers' association. The latter already numbers 104 branches and has over 7,000 members scattered all over the United States and Canada. President Hayes will confer with Max Morris, fourth vice president of the American Federation of labor, this morning, after which he will leave for San Francisco. |
